You have been searching for your dream home for a while now. There were many things you wanted before making the final move. Besides what the house looks like, you were focusing on finding a nice neighborhood, spacious house, closeness to the malls and restaurants in the area, but most of all, good schools for your children. There are times in which you want them to go to a specific school but unfortunately, the school they will be assigned to is not your cup of tea. What do you do? You can always choose the home that meets all the extra requirements you had but that was not so good looking. If this is the case, you can always perform minor upgrades that will complete your dream home.
By painting the exterior of the house and decorating the inside, you will be able to create a quick change in your home in an easy and affordable way. Choose nice colors that go along with your personality and your likes. Opt for a modern and daring look with bright colors or go for a sophisticated and classic look using neutral tones. Once the outside is done, it is time to go inside, where the real transformation will take place. If you like, you can also paint your walls. Not all of them need to be of the same tone or color for that matter. Dare to mix colors or make a combination between darker and lighter tones. Also, keep in mind that the way you organize your furniture has a lot to do with how your home will look. Take advantage of small areas and maximize your space by using light colors and lighting up the room. Do not position your furniture like a square as this will only give the feeling of a confine space instead of that of openness.
As to the decoration, by hanging several pictures and even mirrors, you will be able to give a nice touch to the environment. Now, you need to be careful as to how you do it.
The most important thing is to determine the material the wall you are planning to hang the pictures in is made of. It is important because, unlike concrete wall, hanging things on a drywall is not as easy as grabbing a hammer and some nails and sticking them to a wall. Most of the houses in the United States are made of this material and if you just hammer the nails, you are risking damaging the entire wall. Here are a few tricks on how to set up those frames without ruining your wall.
If you are planning on using nails on your drywall, you need to find wood studs behind the wall. This is where you will be hammering the nails to avoid any ripping or collapsing of your walls. You need a special device used specifically to locate them. The only bad thing is that the end product might not be what you expected as the pictures won’t be located where you wanted causing your photo aesthetics to suffer. It is possible and easy to complete this project hammer-free. All you need to do is stop by your nearest hardware store and buy some anchors. The anchors will give you the freedom to hang your pictures where you feel like it. A popular brand that is extra easy to use is the Buildex E-Z anchors. There are different types that hold up different weights. You might get them from 30, 50 or even 75 pounds. There will be no drilling and no hammering involved and your project will be almost done. With just a simple screwdriver and a little bit of pressure, you will screw the anchor wherever you want in the wall. You are done. Yes, it is as easy as that. Your pictures can be hanged wherever you like, no problems at all.
With these simple and easy steps your home will look completely different and you and your loved one will be ready to start a new, exciting life as soon as you relocate into your new home.
