MovingCost.com’s Best Horror Films of 2010
Posted on December 27th, 2010 by Alejo Tenutta
The year is ending and we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a variety of horror flicks, with some original thrillers and others a continuation of an already unsettling film. So, what movies made you jump this year? MovingCost.com went ahead and compiled our own list of the top films of 2010 and this is what we came up with.
- Splice – Although there is blood, gore, and brutal deaths, this film seemingly focuses more on mental disturbance than actual blood-spilling. The plot revolves around two over zealous geneticists looking to combine human and animal DNA. They eventually create a somewhat innocent creature, but don’t worry, because at about halfway through the movie is when things start to get weird.
- Predators – The action packed thriller pits a group of human beings against the deadly, yet cool-looking predators. While the film stays true to its predecessors, you can expect exciting additions, such as the predator dogs and falcons.
- Daybreakers – You can’t have a horror movie list without mentioning the all-time class concept of vampires. Now, while the Twilight series has made the once feared vampire image into a poster packed inside every high school girl’s locker (thanks a lot Robert Pattinson), this delightful treat puts the bite right back into the character. Starring Ethan Hawke, this flick is sure to entertain and make you cringe.
- Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive – While the famous Saw series has slowly fallen into non-relevance, this film did manage to garner positive reviews. As always, viewers are forced to cringe and even look away from the gruesome tortures. If you are a fan of the series, you will definitely love this one, plus you get to watch it in 3D.
- Legion – What’s a horror movie without discussing the possibility of hell on earth, right? This apocalyptical doozie pits mankind, the always mildly entertaining Dennis Quaid included, against out-of-this-world creatures. Biblical references, gun shots, and monsters posing as old ladies, you get it all with this cinematic creation.
If you missed these theatrical treats because you were recently moving, make sure that you find your nearest DVD rental store location immediately. Grab yourself a tub of popcorn, a comfortable chair, and make sure to keep the lights on.
