Keeping Your Children Sanitized – Make Sure Your Kids Are Germ-Free
Posted on September 3rd, 2010 by Ricardo Louis
Germs and bacteria are everywhere. There’s no avoiding them; wherever you turn, the microscopic critters are there, waiting to spread their ugliness onto you. Keeping yourself clean is crucial, especially for children, since they run around and touch everything in sight and most aren’t properly schooled or well-versed in the proper techniques in cleaning their hands.
You should know how to properly clean and disinfect everything around them; this guide will point you in the right direction. If you are moving, make sure you follow this directions before you relocate to your new abode. Before you know it, your house will be spic and span.
You’re going to want to make sure that all of your children’s toys are cleaned regularly. To accomplish this, make sure you wipe down their toys regularly. Use a cloth and dip it in soapy water, then proceed to wipe down all of the rubber, vinyl and plastic toys your children have. If you want, you can even swipe them clean with an alcohol pad to keep the toys disinfected.
Vacuuming regularly keeps dust away, which can trigger allergies and sicknesses. Be sure to reach every spot, from underneath the beds to under any nightstands and mobile closets. Removing dust from your child’s room prevents it from settling on their dolls, stuffed toys, curtains, bedspreads and any other nook and cranny where they may hide.
Also be sure to dust off the television and bookshelves, and any other tall surface where dust may settle. Dust accumulates very easily on top of items that are difficult to reach. Get a dust sweeper and regularly clean the tops of these surfaces.
Teaching your child the importance of picking up after themselves is also crucial in maintaining a sanitary environment for them. Instead of putting all of their toys away when they’re finished playing with them, make sure you tell them to pick up after themselves and organize the toys where they belong. This not only instills discipline, but also cleanliness, and responsibility that will be much-needed later in life.
